Jim Berns, President & CEO

Jim Berns has been a licensed real estate broker in the state of California since 1979.

While establishing his real estate career, he worked part-time as a newspaper reporter and freelance writer. Along with a Master's Degree in Communications he also has a lifetime teaching certification as an instructor for the California Community Colleges.

It was clear from the beginning that Berns had a knack for understanding and explaining complex real estate concepts. He has served as a manager for Coldwell Banker and has also worked as broker-associate for other well-known real estate franchises. Berns currently owns his own residential real estate company in San Diego, California and continues to serve a select group of repeat and referral clients.

Berns has served as a consultant for both buyers and sellers in 16 states as well as Canada. Several California real estate attorneys have used Berns as an "expert witness" in complicated litigation matters involving real estate transactions.

In the early 1990's, Mr. Berns became known for his unique approach to assisting homeowners who were either upside-down (short sale) or in default on their loans. As his reputation grew, he was engaged as a featured speaker to groups of Realtors, Lenders, CPA's, Enrolled Agents and Attorneys.
